A Great Bible for Syndication

Having a talk show is very rewarding, however, wanting to expand my listening population, I looked into syndication. I read many articles and books on the subject but they only give you bits and pieces of information. Being a newcomer to syndication, I wanted to know the pluses but also the pitfalls. I was pleasantly surprised when I came across "Syndication Nation" by Chris Witting. It not only answered all my questions but gave me a great deal of additional information. For me the most important chapter was 12, "Six Steps to Success." This is a must read for anyone wanting to syndicate their radio show. Chris continues in different chapters to cover newspaper, television, and Internet syndication. Don't pass up this valuable book.

a book for beginners that is devoid of decent content

Sadly this book seems to spend more time convincing the reader that they should become a syndicator of product and doesn't go into much detail as to how to do this. The sorts of details I was looking for does not exist in this so called "definitive guide".

This book really is for beginners and as a host of a syndicated radio show this gives me no insight into other markets or ways of doing things.
Very disappointed.

This book is thin on anything useful and is a sly promotional gimmick for the authors' business, which he promotes whenever he can. Good books on the syndication industry are very hard to find. That being said, skip this book and look for one that will actually help you, not the authors business.

A good book to read to learn about Nicaragua from the first hands.

I loved the book. I needed to find out more about Nicaragua after I visited the country ( I lived in a family in Granada for 2 weeks which is the best way to understand local life - I was studying in a Spanish Language School) and fell in love with it. The book gave me additional info about the difficult times of the country and was interesting to read.

I am interested in Nicaraguan history. My wife and I stood in the square in Managua where the Sandinista revolution success party was. Our Nica friend recommend reading this. It is a wonderful story of Love, War and trajedy. Gioconda is a swell writer and I have enjoyed the book from a womans perspective.

This woman is no hero.

The author is a wildly immature narcissist. I can hardly get through this book. I bought the book to learn more about Nicaraguan history and the revolution; we are traveling there this year. It is so difficult to have any respect for the reasons that compel the author to be involved in the revolution. The reader is left feeling as thought her participation in the Sandanista movement is driven more by her romantic pursuits than her ideals. I had very little respect for her as I read. I felt horrible for her children and parents. The author seems to feel Nobel, but abandoned her children repeatedly.

AMAZING!!!!!

C.C Hunter once again proves she is an amazing writer. Spellbinder is truly a great novella.with heartbreak, comedy, friendship, action, and romance, this book is the perfect blend of all elements. It's amazing that we get to finally read from Miranda's pov and we get to see how much she has grown since Born at Midnight. She's learned to overcome challenges and so many other things. I hope we see more things from Miranda's pov in the future :) anyway overall this book gets 5 stars! (Like all the other books in Shadow Falls) THANK YOU C.C. FOR WRITING ANOTHER AMAZING BOOK!!!

Miranda's turn in the spotlight!! And it's awesome!

The world of Shadow Falls has been a favorite of mine since the very beginning! I loved Kylie's story and going with her on her journey about love, friends, learning what she is and all the adventures that came of it! I am loving Della's series as well as she learns more about her family ties and opening herself up to her feelings, whether they result in good or bad. So to now have Miranda have her own story, the third in the trio, this positively delighted me! C.C. Hunter's Spellbinder, while novella, is still Miranda's chance in the spotlight and it was a marvelous story indeed!

Miranda is still heartsick over the way Perry left her just like that. Breaking her heart as he moved halfway around the world. Now she finds herself gearing up for a competition to become a high priestess and wouldn't you know it, it takes place in Paris, the very city Perry ran off to.

But nearly instantly danger strikes and two of the competitors are murdered, before they even began the competition back in the States. Burnett is there along with Shawn, who happens to have a soft spot for Miranda. It seems all the girls are in the midst of a love triangle, yet Kylie's is already resolved and things ended happily on all accounts. Della still harbors feelings for Steve and Chase and that's one triangle I can't seem to figure out who to root for! And the same goes for Miranda's here as well. I was all for Perry in the beginning, but his breaking up and leaving Miranda hurt me like it hurt her. And then when the two finally meet again, it's like Perry wants things to go back to the way they were before. He's learned to control his abilities and he's ready to play boyfriend again, and this angered me.

Shawn on the other hand is a sweet guy. I can't decide if I am totally team Shawn yet, but I have to say I was rooting more for him then Perry. I don't like that Perry thinks he can try to make things up and be Miranda's boyfriend again lickety split. It's aggravating!

Moving aside from the romance, there was yet another shocking reveal in this one. I refuse to touch on it, but all we can say it was jaw-dropping!

Familiar faces make appearances in this one, it really ties the two companion series together in a way. I wish Lucas could've been in it, but alas, this is not Kylie's story so there was no need for him. The pacing to this one was great! It was a tad slow in the beginning, but really it was just the starting point, the pace never faltered after that and it was excitement after more excitement!

The only thing about the ending I didn't like was the romance was never really resolved. Miranda still has her choice to make. And it's killing me not knowing which guy she will choose. Will she return to Perry after he broke her heart and expects things to go back to happy romance time or give Shawn a try...and there's more to Shawn then I'm telling you, but I'll let you experience that for yourselves! So my burning question now is, will Miranda's story be resolved in Unspoken or will she get another novella?! And since I read this in ARC format that means the wait for knowing the answer will be that much longer! Grr...

Overall Rating 4.5/5 stars--basically because of how things ended with the romance and the not knowing and the not knowing of when we can see it resolved resulted in a minor .5 takeoff. But other than that I loved this novella! As I do with all the Shadow Falls books!

Witches, Vampires, and Danger... Oh My!

Miranda Kane has always felt that she is a screw-up, especially when it comes to magic. When her mother gives her an added incentive to do well at a spellcasting competition, she finds herself somehow in first place... and in more danger than she could imagine.

While Spellbinder is a short story in the Shadow Falls universe, it's not necessary that you read the other books before reading this one, since enough background is provided that you are able to get into the story easily. I haven't (yet) read the other books in the series, but after reading this one I'm excited to start reading from the beginning! The author is able to write characters that seem read, even in a fantasy world, and while a short story doesn't give a lot of time for character development there are a few twists and turns in this story to make it interesting. Not only do we have mystery and murder in the plot, but we also dip into Miranda's past and her relationships with her friends and enemies alike. The story isn't perfect, but it's a fun and enjoyable short story.

If you're a fan of magic, mystery, fantasy, and light romance, I recommend that you pick up Spellbinder by C.C. Hunter.

Difficulty Digesting History?

When I was in college getting my degree in Spanish, my professor opted to use this book as our textbook for our Spanish History class, and I loved it. Finally, history read like a story or a tale, not a lot of facts and info that had to be digested like bad tasting vegetables. Everything made sense. Everything was clear. And, the literature had a natural flow, like a riveting novel. But, I wouldn't expect anything less from Carlos Fuentes. I wish that he could have written all my classes' textbooks, in that way I would have graduated with a 4.0 average!

Japanese Grammer: a pillar for becoming proficient

I have been studying Japanese on my own. Being in a line of work where self-study is a requirement for advancement, I needed a resource that would help explain the general structure of the Japanese language, so I could organize a plan for acquiring the language at my own pace. This book is one of those pillars. If you have a solid knowledge of the hiragana and a basic yet formal understanding of the syntax of written Japanese, this book will work for you. On each page, the kanji are presented with rubi the FIRST time. After that, you have to remember the reading just for that page. The rubi is repeated elsewhere. Lack of kanji memorization is not a hindrance to using this book. The illustrations are basic diagrams in black and white that explain the sentence structure. There are no pictures of people, locations,etc.

The author does a clinical, yet thorough job of explaining how the Japanese language is organized. It helps you to anchor yourself in the sea of words and sounds. The explanations do not require expertise in linguistics. It is not leisure reading but persistence should pay off.
The key is getting clued into the organization of the foreign language so you can identify your weak spots and better direct your studies: particles/postpositions, verbal and adjectival types, etc. You do not need to be an expert in everything at once. But the basic grammar is important if you want to be a fluent speaker. This will not automatically make you speak fluent Japanese. That takes time, practice and LANGUAGE CDS. But, it may help you with listening and reading comprehension of authentic Japanese. You want to understand enough to build up the confidence that you can become a competent reader, writer and speaker of Japanese.

Absolutely excellent

I've been studying Japanese for 20 years, and I own many grammar books. If I had to pick two of the best, this would be one of them, along with "Using Japanese" which I also review here on Amazon. This covers all the basic and intermediate grammar you would need in order to communicate comfortably in every day life and beyond. I honestly don't have anything negative to say about this book. It is well-structured, thorough, and gives tons of examples for each grammatical concept. If you want a good reference book to come back to for years to come, this won't let you down.

Great Textbook!

The illustrations and pictures are in color, which makes it much more convenient for my students to understand them. Especially for the more complicated topics like directional terms and identifying microorganisms. Fabulous book and a good alternative to the TVA book (an oldie, but still a goodie!).

An emphasis on imaging is demonstrated in the new edition with more than 175 new or replacement images, and ten new surgical videos (access via QR codes) to illustrate common vitreoretinal procedures.

About the Author
Agadurappa Mahadevaiah MBBS,DABO(USA) is the founder surgeon and senior consultant at Basavanagudi ENI Ogre Centre, and consultant at Sagar Apollo Hospital, Bangalore. After completing his MBBS degree in 1962 from Bangalore Medical College, he completed internship in neurosurgery and otolaryngology at the Ottawa General Hospital, Oanada (1963); general surgery residency at Norwalk General Hospital, Norwalk, USA (1964); residency programme in otolaryngology at St. Luke s Hospital, New York, USA (1965-68); fellowship in otology at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital (1968-69); and passed American Board of Otolaryngology (1968), He was lecturer in ENT at Bangalore Medical College (1970-71) and honorary consultant in otolaryngology and skull base surgery at National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (1980-98). Dr Mahadevaiah is a well known otologist in India and has performed more than 25,000 ear surgeries, He has been faculty member in many temporal bone dissection and live surgery workshops all over India since 1986. He has been conducting otology workshops twice a year since 1998, He has otology fellowship programme at his hospital and has trained many ENT surgeons. He was President of Indian Society of Otology (1991-95), President of Association of Otolaryngologists of India (1995), and President of All India Rhinology Society (2005). Bhavin Panrikh MS (ENT). Fellowship in Otology is currently consultant ENT surgeon atVijayVallabh Hospital, Krishna Development and Rehabilitation Centre, Baroda, Gujarat. He pursued his postgraduation in ENT and head and neck surgery at Baroda Medical College, MS University, Baroda, and fellowship in otology under Dr A. Mahadevaiah and Dr H Vijayendra at Rajiv Gondhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. Following the completion of the fellowship, Dr Parikh worked with Dr A. Mahadevaiah at Basavcinagudi ENT Care Centre. He has published a number of well-read articles.
