good read to tune into your inner experiences and possible ...

This book had doozens of mis-spelled words throughout the entire book, it was strange? Not sure if that was a mistake on the authors part or the publisher? I'm a grammar freak so I kept noticing them throughout each chapter and thought it was a bit tacky. A bit shorter than expected, I wouldn't say its worth how much you pay with shipping but other than that, good read to tune into your inner experiences and possible past struggles!

Everything Cici writes makes me want to put my hands in the air and say, "YESSS!". It's absolutely refreshing to see a woman who has gone through a similar s*** storm to me and has made it out the other side. I follow Cici on Instagram and I feel like she's the strong, independent friend that I lack, keeping me going. I recommend this book to anyone who's ever fallen in love with someone who has proceeded to lie, cheat and manipulate. Someone that you find yourself making excuses for. Someone that really messes you up. So damn relatable.

About the Author
Jack Herris has a long history with aviation. His parents started dating while car-pooling together to North American Aviation during WW2. Jack’s father built P-51s, including parts for the first P-51 Mustang ever built, and his mother built B-25s. In 1971 Jack graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics. He then served as a Naval Aviator, flying P-3B Orion aircraft with VP-46. After leaving the navy he worked in the Laser Fusion Program at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, then worked in the high tech industry in Silicon Valley. He holds CFI, CFI-I, CFI-ME, ATP, and Learjet type ratings. Jack is a long-time member of the League of WWI Aviation Historians, and before that the Cross & Cockade Society, and has written more than a dozen articles on WWI aircraft published in their quarterly journal, Over the Front and has edited several issues of that journal. He brings additional insight into these aircraft both from his engineering and military pilot experience. In 1992 he founded Flying Machines Press to publish aviation history books and after publishing 20 titles, sold Flying Machines Press in 2000. He became a repeat offender by starting Aeronaut Books, which published its first two new aviation books around Thanksgiving 2010 and now has 30 new titles in print. Jack wrote 30 articles on WWI airplanes for Model Aircraft magazine published in the UK, and has written the following books on WWI aircraft: SPAD Two-Seat Fighters of World War I Aircraft of WWI: 1914–1918 Development of German Warplanes in WWI German Seaplane Fighters of WWI Nachtflugzeug! About the Author
Percussionist Samuel Z. Solomon has been responsible for dozens of world premieres of solo and small ensemble works. With saxophonist Eric Hewitt, he is co-founder of the Yesaroun? Duo; the Duo has been featured in recitals all over the northeast United States, in Italy, and in Cuba. Mr. Solomon made his Carnegie Hall debut in February of 2000, performing the world premiere of John Mackey?s Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra as guest soloist with the New York Youth Symphony. In December 1999 he was featured in Lincoln Center?s Alice Tully Hall, performing the American premiere of Iannis Xenakis?s final composition, O-Mega for percussion solo and chamber orchestra, with the New Juilliard Ensemble. Mr. Solomon spent six summers at Tanglewood, three as a Fellow of the Tanglewood Music Center, and six years at Juilliard, receiving two degrees. He lives in New York City.

an excellent companion to standard orchestration texts

This book is an excellent companion to the standard orchestration texts one might buy, such as Adler or Forsyth. It goes into great detail about all of the instruments, sticks, notation, etc. Basically anything you could need to start writing for percussion, which isn't often covered in great detail in other books. It's very nice to now have a reference that doesn't gloss over the percussion and gives very good insights into writing for this large and complex body of instruments.

I am a concert music composer. One of the things I like about being such a composer in the 21th-century is the abundance of percussion instruments and complex rhythms available to us. However, writing and notating these percussion parts is also a challenge, unique to the 21th-century, and we must have the guidance and assistance of professional percussionist. "How to Write for Percussion" is now my new guide to notating composing for percussion. I am enjoying this book very much.

This book is what all the other reviews say, it is a must for ANYONE, percussionints, composers, friends, family, your grandma who likes to compose the occasional snare drum trio on the weekends, ANYONE who loves percussion and wants the most informative source on composing methods for it. Don't be that composer who puts the ride cymbal notation below the bass drum, trust me, we've all seen it done!!!! CHECK THIS BOOK OUT!

Highly entertaining, more like a show than audio book

I listened to Oath Of Moment today for the first time. Garro is a lone Space Marine on a very important mission at a most dire point later in the Horus Heresy. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone reading this review, so I won't say much more other than the action and drama in this story makes it one of the more fun Black Library stories I've heard. Space Marines, Imperial Guardsmen, Traitors and Cultists and legendary characters from the time of the Horus Heresy are involved. Even better, the music, sound effects and voice acting by Toby Longworth are extremely well done. It's difficult to talk about the story because it contains all kinds of interesting little revelations about the characters and intricacies of the Horus Heresy that should not be known ahead of time to maximize enjoyment. These Black Library Audio CD stories are much more than just normal audio books, they are more like audio shows like the radio dramas of old with acting, music and sound effects. The actor doesn't just read the story, he performs it and does many different voices and a dramatic reading of the lines. Recommended for all Warhammer fans and fans of SF action. It's a lot of fun.

Great Audiobook

I greatly enjoy both the 40k landscape and as an extension the Horus Heresy series. These audiodramas are great. I get to keep on driving down the road while still pumping 40k into my veins. I only wish they had the verbal track a little louder compared to the background. Between road noise and my not spectacular hearing, sometimes I have to replay parts a few times to get all the words figured out.

I have no legion!

This lavishly acted story draws the listened in from the first moment. On a world shattered by the Ultimate War, a lone loyalist Space Marine is sent on a mission to build a new legion from those were were shunned after the edict outlawing psykers and Librarians. In the most elegant example of the left and right hands not paying attention, the Sigilite sends Garro to collect these disenfranchised psychics and buil a new legion, a secret legion.

The voice acting is spectacular. The production value is everything I expect from Black Library and Games Workshop. Though short, I loved every second of it.

This is a book for all Christians who want to grow in relationship with the Holy Spirit. Benny Hinn uses this book to describe his journey with Christ and how the Holy Spirit completely changed his life. While he talks about his journey, he describes ways the reader can learn, hear and work with the Holy Spirit. The goal of this book was for me to grow in relationship with the Holy Spirit and that is exactly what happened after I finished reading this book. A must read for all.

Read it before, it really is wonderful, and I repurchased it this time again. Yes, after reading the first time, I did "hear" the voice of the Holy Spirit clearly, God is so amazing, one word changed me completely for those who have "ears to hear" let them hear. You won't find this book on a school library shelf--it's pure teenage anarchy. While many homeschooling authors hem and haw that learning at home isn't for everyone, this manifesto practically tells kids they're losers if they do otherwise. With the exception of a forwarding note to parents, this book is written entirely for teenagers, and the first 75 pages explain why school is a waste of time. Grace Llewellyn insists that people learn better when they are self-motivated and not confined by school walls. Instead of homeschooling, which connotes setting up a school at home, Llewellyn prefers "unschooling," a learning method with no structure or formal curriculum. There are tips here you won't hear from a school guidance counselor. Llewellyn urges kids to take a vacation--at least for a week--after quitting school to purge its influence. "Throw darts at a picture of your school" or "Make a bonfire of old worksheets," she advises. She spends an entire chapter on the gentle art of persuading parents that this is a good idea. Then she gets serious. Llewellyn urges teens to turn off the TV, get outside, and turn to their local libraries, museums, the Internet, and other resources for information. She devotes many chapters to books and suggestions for teaching yourself science, math, social sciences, English, foreign languages, and the arts. She also includes advice on jobs and getting into college, assuring teens that, contrary to what they've been told in school, they won't be flipping burgers for the rest of their days if they drop out.

Llewellyn is a former middle-school English teacher, and she knows her audience well. Her formula for making the transition from traditional school to unschooling is accompanied by quotes on freedom and free thought from radical thinkers such as Steve Biko and Ralph Waldo Emerson. And Llewellyn is not above using slang. She capitalizes words to add emphasis, as in the "Mainstream American Suburbia-Think" she blames most schools for perpetuating. Some of her attempts to appeal to young minds ring a bit corny. She weaves through several chapters an allegory about a baby whose enthusiasm is squashed by a sterile, unnatural environment, and tells readers to "learn to be a human bean and not a mashed potato." let freedom ring

"She had the ambition of Napoleon and the talent of your average high school valedictorian."

This Ernest Hemingway quotation supposedly about his third wife, Martha Gellhorn, somehow fits with the spirit of The Teenage Liberation Handbook. Though I don't agree with Hemingway's assessment of Gellhorn, I couldn't help but think of it when reading this book.

Grace Llewellyn's THL is not just a volume about how to homeschool (though she prefers the term "unschool," with self-directed learning based on ever-expanding interests being the primary occupation of young people). The book is also a direct attack on American schools, particularly high schools, and how they have managed to turn truly fascinating subjects into a series of meaningless assignments, make learning a chore and create lemmings out of otherwise bright and alive individuals. Because of their dictatorship tactics ("Jane, could you please go to the bathroom before class starts?" "Harry, this is not math class, so please put your math book away!"), Llewellyn posits, schools undermine the very basis of American democracy. And you know what? She's right.

At the beginning, Llewellyn recounts her own experience with the epitome of anti-democratic institutions known as the American (and not just public) school. In a telling anecdote, she relates how she and some friends joined forces in junior high school to circulate a petition indicting the school lunchroom for serving food unfit to eat. Several students signed the petition, only for it to be confiscated by a teacher and relayed to the principal. Llewellyn's friends had to report to the principal, who informed them that there would be no more complaints or petitions about lunchroom food or anything else. At that same time, Llewellyn sent a letter to the governor of her state, who responded, gave her a resource to contact about the quality of her school's food, and thanked her and her friends for promoting democracy. Now, is anyone shocked that the school squelched this most basic freedom of expression while an elected politician encouraged it? Hardly.

But not only do schools rob their students of their fundamental rights as Americans, they also make learning a tasteless, dull chore. Think about the people who scored the top grades in your school--were they bright, alive, vibrant individuals who loved learning and had a curiosity about every subject that they turned into excellent grades? Not at my school. Instead, they had "the talent of your average high school valedictorian." They knew how to manipulate the system and come away from it without being the slightest bit improved by their "education." I don't think they were exceptions.

Llewellyn pulls out all the stops in her critique of school. It's an outdated, archaic institution that makes slaves out of people whom it should be liberating. This critique is not too strong. After reading this book, I felt vindicated in all the frustration and resentment I ever felt in middle and high school.

A diatribe against schooling would have been enough for me to like this book, but Llewellyn outdoes herself by showing how to make unschooling all it can be. She warns against reconstructing school at home and instead offers countless resources for teens wanting to take their education into their own hands.

I passed this book along to my cousin, who homeschools her three children but so far has more or less stuck to "school at home." In reading just a few pages, she's already made some changes that have benefited both her and her children. I can't wait to see what happens when she finishes the book.

A note to parents: Llewellyn operates from the assumption that you all love your teens beyond belief and want what's best for them. Therefore, her advice to teens follows the reasoning that they should help you come to see that "rising out" of school is the best for them. Listen closely, and read the book. I know from personal experience that self-directed learning will prepare a student for college better than pretty much any high school could hope to.

I was outraged

I was a very fortunate person as I knew Grace Llewellyn personally and was privelaged to read a copy of the book when it first came out. When I she told me about the book I rolled my eyes and shrugged my shoulders, "that's Grace" I thought. I felt certain that I would find the book well written but would disagree with it right down to the premise. I had an excellent High School experience and held a BA from a very good private college. I felt that schooling had been to my beneifit.
But when I read the book my reaction was one of sorrow and outrage that I had not had this book when I was a teenager. I gave it to my Mom to read and she is now a huge supporter of Ms. Llewellyn's work as well. This is significant as my mother is a former community college administrator.
Reading this book is risky, dangerous, frightening. It will open your eyes to truths you don't want to know and ideas you don't want to think. It will make you question the systems we have set up for education. It might make you quit school, it might make you wish you had.

Julian Wilson lived in Hong Kong for twelve years, where he worked as an editor, journalist and photographer for, among others, 'Time Life' and the 'Hong Kong Standard'. He is also the author of a biography of the Olympic athlete and missionary, Eric Liddell. He now resides in Shanghai with his wife and daughter.

I own all of the books by and about Wiggleworth. This writer gives some new fresh points of view of Wigglesworth. Execellent book.

A more thorough account

There have been many books written about Smith Wigglesworth and I own them all. And even though George Stormont was a friend of mine and I will always treasure the autographed copy he gave me of his book on Smith, this book shed more light on Smith and was more thorough than any of the others. He truly was a remarkable man, Smith Wigglesworth. His life and ministry continues to inspire Christians even today. Great book.

Great book- very poor kindle version

The actual written contents if this book is excellent. In fact one of the best stories about smith wiggles worth ever written.

BUT the whole book is ruined by a really poor transfer to kindle which spoils it.

Here are the issues.

1. Table of contents is there but does not link to the chapters. In other words it is a list of static text.

2. The first letter of some words appears separate above the rest of the word.

3. The actual photographs are missing that the paper book includes.

4. The front cover is missing so we don't see the nice artwork the paper book has.

If it wasn't for being a big fan of Mr Wigglesworth I would have sent this back.
